A You season 4 poster arrives, showing off Joe Goldberg’s different London disguises. The psychological thriller series, based on Caroline Kepnes’ novels, premiered on Lifetime back in 2018 before moving to Netflix a year later. It follows Joe (Penn Badgley), who revealed himself to be a serial killer during season 1, as his various romantic interests turn into obsessions, and he sporadically attempts to escape his past by moving and changing identities. Garnering consistently positive reactions from critics and audiences alike, the streaming platform announced the renewal of You prior to season 3’s release in 2021. Fans last saw Joe and Love’s (Victoria Pedretti) tumultuous relationship come to an end, and found Badgley’s character arriving in Europe in pursuit of another love interest.

What To Expect From You Season 4

During the events of You’s season 3 finale, fans saw Joe kill Love with a deadly poison and leave their son with Dante (Ben Mehl). After faking his own death and making Love’s seem self-inflicted, Joe writes a confession on her computer, framing his wife for everything. He ended up in Paris, intent on finding Marienne (Tati Gabrielle), who fled when Love informed her of his obsession and what happened to Ryan (Scott Michael Foster). Picking up from there, the You season 4 teaser trailer saw Joe taking on the role of a professor, using the name Jonathan Moore, and narrating what audiences can expect from the new episodes.

You season 4 is being released in two parts, premiering on February 9 and March 9. Badgley and Gabrielle will reprise their roles as Joe and Marienne, respectively, and will be joined by new faces, also featured in the season’s teaser. Amy-Leigh Hickman, Charlotte Ritchie, Tilly Keeper, Lukas Gage, Ed Speleers, Niccy Lin, Aidan Cheng, and Ozioma Whenu have all been added to the show’s cast. The specifics of their characters and how they interact with Joe remain to be seen, but fans of You have gotten a glimpse at another potential love interest of Joe’s, as well as him in the classroom.

Through three seasons, You has managed to keep audiences engaged by introducing new characters and creating more difficult obstacles for Joe to work around, and fans are hoping the series’ jump to Europe will continue that trend. While there may be some uncertainty over the show’s future beyond season 4, its two-part release should keep viewers excited about the new storyline. It will be interesting to see how the events of this season unravel, and if the change in setting or Joe’s role as a professor affect any of his decisions. Those looking forward to Badgley’s return as Joe can be sure to check out You season 4 when it debuts on Netflix on February 9.
