Mike Tyson is a retired American boxer who competed from 1985 to 2005 and became the youngest heavyweight champion in history at age 20. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1966, and had a troubled childhood involving street gangs and reform school. He was trained by Cus D’Amato, who became his legal guardian. He held the IBF, WBA, and WBC titles simultaneously and was known as “Iron Mike”, “Kid Dynamite”, and “The Baddest Man on the Planet”.
He lost the title in 1990 and later served three years in prison for rape charges. He also bit Evander Holyfield’s ear during a rematch in 1997. After his release from prison, he engaged in a series of comeback fights.
