Vicki Gunvalson admits she was “jealous” when she learned Tamra Judge was invited back to The Real Housewives of Orange County instead of her.

Vicki Gunvalson opened up about how “jealous” she was when Tamra Judge was invited back to The Real Housewives of Orange County and she wasn’t. Vicki and Tamra are two veterans who helped put RHOC on the map. Vicki was the reigning OG on RHOC when she was fired after 14 seasons. Tamra’s termination followed, and the two were no longer “whooping” it up and stirring the pot. Vicki and Tamra returned for The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip season 2 and expressed their disappointment with being let go.

Shortly after appearing on the Real Housewives spin-off, Tamra confirmed her return to RHOC while Vicki failed to get invited back. Ahead of the new season, Vicki shared her disappointment with not being asked back alongside her good friend Tamra. I was jealous, mad,” Vicki told Us Weekly. “I thought the phone would be ringing for [me]. I’m like, ‘Hello, Andy [Cohen], you’re not calling me!’” But despite the initial bout of jealousy, Vicki is happy Tamra is making a comeback instead of her. “I’m so happy for her,” Vicki said, noting how much Tamra “really wanted it more than me. She’s good TV.”

With Tamra returning, she was able to invite Vicki along to some events that will create a few guest appearances in RHOC season 17. “It was great. Loved it. Loved my girls,” Vicki said while teasing her “Tres Amigas time” with Tamra and Shannon Beador. “I love my Tamra [and] Shannon, and we’re good together. Vicki also hinted at the possibility of her returning as a full-time housewife in the future. “That’s Bravo’s decision, right. And then, at that time, I address it,” Vicki explained. “My filming days hopefully aren’t over.”

Vicki starred on the Real Housewives series from its inception in 2006 to her RHOC season 14 firing in 2020. Fans got to watch Vicki’s life drastically change from being a devoted working mom and erratic wife to her husband Donn Gunvalson to being a heartbroken divorcee with regrets of cheating on Donn with her shady ex-boyfriend Brooks Ayers. Vicki’s daughter Briana Culberson helped serve as a voice of reason at times when it came to Vicki’s outbursts and antics. Over the years, Vicki managed to rub everyone the wrong way and even feud with Tamra at times. But her dramatic banter proved to be too much when she filmed with a group of housewives. Vicki received criticism from fans and viewers during her appearance in RHUGT season 2.

Vicki was fresh off the heels of breaking up with her ex-fiancé Steve Lodge and was bummed about the split. Vicki moped around the house and complained about the remote location of Dorinda Medley’s Blue Stone Manor. Fans grew tired of Vicki bringing the energy down while Tamra served as the perfect middle woman between Vicki and the rest of the group. Apparently, Tamra impressed producers so much that she was asked to return to RHOC season 17. Taylor Armstrong also appeared in RHUGT season 2 and was asked to join RHOC despite her initial start on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. With Tamra and Taylor joining The Real Housewives of Orange County, it became more clear that Vicki might’ve been intentionally left out. It makes sense why she was jealous after the obvious snub. Maybe her guest appearances will change producers’ minds and see her make a return in the near future.
