PM Imran Khan questions Oppositions plea in Supreme Court

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday slammed the Opposition and questioned why did they approach the Supreme Court.

The premier made these remarks during a live Q&A session during which he said the Opposition leaders are running away from the elections because they are scared of PTI’s popularity.

“When the election has been announced, what is the opposition doing in the Supreme Court? The opposition wants NRO II,” he said in his opening remarks.

He said that the country cannot develop unless the thinkers of the country come to the parliament.

“We will give tickets this time after scrutiny and only to the ideological candidates. We did not have experience of contesting elections but now we know the game of rules.”

PM Imran Khan said that forming a government by buying members is a negation of democracy, the opposition has been saying for three and a half years that the government has failed and the government is selected.

“We have now announced the election at the request of the Opposition.”

He said that there are corruption cases against them and they want NRO II.

“An attempt was made to overthrow the government by external conspiracy and the people should protest against it today outside the Red Zone.”
